The EURES-T Danubius cross-border partnership, in cooperation with the labour office in Győr Hungary, organized a forum for recent school graduates. The forum was an opportunity to meet as well with vocational schools and employers of the border region. The information forum was held on 15 November 2010 in University Hall in Győr. The following professions were presented at the event: car mechanic, mechanical operator, metal worker, metal-milling/cutting machine operator, locksmith, welder, medical nurse, non-medical nurse, professional soldier, baker and confectioner.
The young people received information from the staff of the labour office and from others who cooperate with the EURES-T Danubius cross-border partnership. Our cross-border programme also invited students and labour office staff from Dunajská Streda, Slovakia to participate in the forum. We presented our activities at the event and also offered much useful information to those who were deciding about their future profession, choosing a school or thinking about a job in either country. The participants heard presentations on the labour markets in this border region and other specific details about the Slovak-Hungarian border regions.
There were 45 exhibitors at the forum, 26 of which were secondary vocational schools, 3 other kinds of educational institutions and 16 employers. There were 4,500 school graduates or other students who attended the forum to consider their professions and careers.
